Sketch Group Show

About the exhibit

For the Sketch group exhibit, we invited artists to crop one of their existing drawings into an 8-inch square to isolate and reveal details within the artwork. The cropping magnifies the subtle features in the figure. Viewers peer into the thought process that is sometimes second nature to the artist: the intuitive composition, color relationships, and purposeful lines. The show explores observing, thinking, and mark-making on paper.

Ribbon Frames

The horizontal arrangement of evenly spaced frames that extend along the gallery walls affords all the drawings to be seen equally across the optimal field of view.
